Redesigning the Shrewsbury Hotel

Redesigning the Shrewsbury Hotel

Redesigning the Shrewsbury Hotel

Brief: The Shrewsbury Hotel is old, outdated, dull and dark inside with little character.

The hotel is in a great location facing the River Severn. Although it has a good view, it lacks light and warmth inside and out. Instead, it has turned into a basic pub, which could have lots of potential.

I would like to redesign the main bar area of the hotel, so it feels more welcoming and modern. As it’s next to the river, I would like to use nature elements in my design, but still make traditional features of the hotel, such as the fire place, feel like it’s meant to be there, instead of blending in to the rest of the building.

I think by changing the colour scheme, furniture and floor, The Shrewsbury Hotel could turn into a classy riverside pub, attracting a lot more people.
